Refurbed was awarded the Battery and WEEE champion award. They work with over 100,000 customers and as a result Refurbed has saved over 200,000 devices and 885 tonnes of e-waste.

Best Deposit Return Initiative
WeCan were awarded the first Best Deposit Return Initiative award. WeCan Ireland is a community project that supports adults with intellectual disabilities by providing them with jobs collecting and returning recyclable cans and bottles from local businesses. The project now has 56 supporters onboard which has seen them collect over 33,300 cans and bottles, raising €5,000 in funds to support local charities.

Best Single Use Plastic Initiative
Eco Friendly Cups Ireland won the Best Single Use Plastic award. Eco Friendly Cups have successfully washed and dried over 300,000 beverage cups per hour and have replaced over 150,000 single use cups with reuse at the Irish Open Golf in 2024.

Business Recycling Champion
Lidl Ireland took home the Business Recycling Champion Award for their amazing work on minimising waste generation. Lidl Ireland now generates less than 5% of general waste out of the total waste streams produced in their business.

Environmental Education & Community Initiative Initiative
Tramore Eco Group won the Environmental Education and Community Initiative Award for their outstanding committment to preserving the natural costal environment. They distributed 1,400 trees locally in 2024, protected dunes through Marram planting and repurposed Christmas tree placement and carried out weekly beach cleans.

ESG Leader
Dennis Spiegel, Senior Responsible Sourcing Manager at Lidl Ireland won the 2024 ESG Leader award. Dennis has been a strong advocate for sustainability at Lidl Ireland, leading significant changes across the company. He has successfully combined environmental responsibility with business goals, while also prioritising employees and stakeholders.

Innovation In Waste Resource Products Or Service
Green Generation were the 2024 winners of the Innovation in Waste Resource Products or Service award. Green Generation supplied 10,000 planter pots to Tesco which were manufactured from plastic packaging collected in Tesco stores and they prevented 210 tonnes of mixed plastics from incineration and averted approximately 330,000 kg of CO2 emissions.

Plastic Pledge Award - Gold
Aldi Ireland were awarded the Gold Plastic Pledge award for their strong committment to the Plastic Pledge and its 4 objectives. Aldi Ireland now recycles 99.20% of its packaging and is the first major Irish retailer to introduce natural caps on milk bottles, making it easier to recycle.

Tyre Champion
NR Rubber Products won the Tyre Champion award at the 2024 Pakman Award. They have successfully repurposed 100% recycled tyres into matting, recycling an estimated 600 tons of rubber crumb—equivalent to approximately 99,600 tyres.

Waste Prevention Award
Dawn Farm Foods were award the Waste Prevention award. They have recycled over 542 tonnes of material in the first half of 2024. And through the use of new 'Blue Flexi Web' Packaging have reduced 30 tonnes of cardboard and eliminated 26,000,000 labels.

Waste Recovery Operator – Commercial and Household
The Waste Recovery Operator – Commercial and Household award was presented to Thorntons Recycling. In 2023, Thorntons Recycling achieved a 92.6% rate of recycling and recovery and 100% of its energy was from renewable sources.

Soltec (Ireland) Ltd won the Waste Recycling and Recovery Facility award.
Soltec (Ireland) Ltd had increased its hazardous waste treatment capacity from 5,000 tonnes in 2019 to 20,000 tonnes in 2021, a 300% increase due to significant investments and technological advancements.
